“Last winter, in search of inspiration for the Resort collection, I set out on a journey from Tokyo to Osaka. Along the way I paused for two days in Kyoto, a city that emanates a sense of clarity and renewal. Centuries-old craft traditions and the quiet beauty of nature he found there became the basis of the new collection.” – Adam F. Lippes
We started our stay by setting out through Kyoto’s temple paths, pausing to take in the burnished tones of the autumn foliage and the soft light that settles over the city’s gardens and hills.
An Intimate Ceremony
After visiting the Raku Museum, home to over four centuries of ceramic tradition, we were received at the private residence of Mr. Raku Kichizaemon for a traditional tea ceremony.
Kyoto’s Timeless Craft
In Kyoto’s historic districts, we explored shops filled with exquisite antiques, ranging from delicate ceramics to vintage kimono fabrics, each reflecting the city’s enduring dedication to craftsmanship.
